We are currently hiring for two positions at NWLRC
Volunteer Opportunities
I. After School Program
Support neighbourhood students between the ages of 11-24 with after school activities and build their involvement with the community
II. Canada Connects Mentor
Support the mentoring of newcomers one hour per week to a minimum two hours a month about life in Canada.
III. Emergency Food Cupboard/Reception
Will be the first to greet people entering the building and the last one to see them leave. Receptionist is the face to the community centre. Friendly first point of contact for the public using our centre programs or services. Give public access to NWLRC’s emergency food services.
IV. Homework Club
Support neighbourhood students between the ages of 11-15 with completion of school homework/studying.
Placement Students
Post-Secondary students and faculty in the Human Services Sector (ie. Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Care, Human Services Foundation, Sociology, Early Childhood Education, or other related fields) are welcome to inquire about completing their school placement within our agency.
Students will have the opportunity to assist with programs, engage with residents and gain new experiences within our Neighbourhood Resource Centre setting. Since 2015, we have welcomed second year Nursing Students from Fanshawe College and Western University. We look forward to continuing our partnership and welcoming new students this year!
